Part of building your community is giving back, and Grilled Cornbread, LLP is very proud to announce our involvement with the 18th Annual Deaf Santa Celebration at Pearlridge Center.
The State of Hawaii Department of Education has approximately 120 students in schools throughout the islands whose first language is American Sign Language. In years past, the DOE would fly the neighbor island students to Oahu to participate in the Christmas festivities at Pearlridge Center including an opportunity to give their wish lists to the State’s only deaf Santa.
Unfortunately, like many other industries, the DOE is facing economic hardship and instead of grinching the experience for neighbor island children — they’ve embraced technology and innovation. The Cornbreads are proud to provide our livestream services on Thursday, December 10, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Everyone is invited to view the activities live on the Pearlridge website and participate in the chat room or if you’re in the neighborhood come on down to experience the connection between the children and Santa — without words, but genuine expressions.
