I was born in humble times in a rural town and later raised in an inner-city neighborhood. I landed a job in radio while still in high school and began co-anchoring the local evening news at the age of 19. Today, I am an American media personality and was once the world’s only black billionaire.

A head on collision almost five years ago turned my life right-side up. Those who look at the glass half empty will be confused with my statement, but it’s true. And, if I am honest with myself it was the jolt of the collision that removed the scales from my eyes enabling me to see a prosperous vision.

Today, in addition to being a Founding Partner for interactive media company, Grilled Cornbread, LLP; I am also a Curator and Evangelist for leading aggregation site, Alltop and Chief Evangelist for media marketing company, Pono Media. My greatest startups are my children, Chelsea and Jayden.
